O App é bem simples e faz muito bem o que promete, o melhor que o tempo decorrido aparece tb no icone no DOC quando o aplicativo não esta em primeiro plano ou minimizado.
This app has done wonders to my productivity. I used struggle to time myself which led to me spending too much time on some work, which would drain me and lower my productivity. Now I can set even 5 minutes and be sure that I will work for only those 5 minutes. I am buying the pro version next week because these developers deserve that money. Thank you AS Timer team. You guys are saving the world. Believe it!
I love this little timer! I use it to create chunks of time for me to get work done (kind of like pomodoro-style) and it works great. Using a timer on my phone or on google or whatever was always a little tough because it was easy to just zone out and not see that the timer had ended. I really like that this timer has the option of staying on the screen on top of other apps. I don't really use the sounds (the few times I tried them I just got really startled by them haha) but it makes a big notification across the screen when it's done so even on silent it's impossible to ignore.
It works. +1 Star if it “shirink to the menu bar with a display” was an option. +1 Star if it would work from the notification bar which has completely failed to replace the Dashboard. +1 Star if it could run multiple timers at 1 time.
The App is very easy to use, very intuitive. It is just the right size on the iMac display.
I'm been looking for a timer as Gestimer, which I also like, doesn't have the ability to set as a clock, for a specific time, like AS Timer PRO. Military time is set, but I'm pleased to see that on the lower right, the time is show in AM/PM. It has more features than I need, but I'd rather that than the opposite. As someone else mentioned, it would be nice to be able to resize the window (make it larger) but I'll NOT deduct a star since customer support is prompt and good. Great app as is the "normal" AS Timer!
Great timer. Simple to use. Easy to read. Use it every day. Simple, clean and elegant.
Where did the seconds go...
Great productivity reminder, love it, always using it during my work sessions. Highly recommended for it's simplicity and full screen alert options. (and it's not bad looking either).
Does what I want. Free and no ads. Digital pomodoro.
Simple, efficient.
It's good, but some things could be fine tuned. Like I feel the minute scroll is backwards. I scroll up and the minutes decrese, and that is backwards imo. Also, it might be nice if the alarm kept going. If I set the alarm then leave the room and miss the alarm, it's done (aside from the screen alert). Maybe a beep every 15-20 seconds like the oven. Overall, it's a handy app.
Awesome app, it does what I need it to perfectly everytime! I love the ability to keep it floating everywhere. But one small thing: the timer window doesn't seem to have the ability to resize (I tried from the corners and sides). This would be amazing if the app could do this when trying to fit all of my open apps/windows on my screen!
Currently has a big bug. When you click start, it starts with 2 hours on the timer. PLEASE FIX. Not currently usable
I wanted a simple countdown timer, and I wanted to be able to enter the time easily, in human terms. A minute and 15 seconds, should be able to entered from the keyboard as 115. I tried two other timers..neither allowed this simple entry. AS Timer allows this kind of entry and in every other way, works smoothly, as expected, and even a few nice unexpected features. I really don't need the PRO version, but I'm going to buy it anyway, because even the basic version is easily worth the cost of the PRO. Nice job, Alinof Software!
SIMPLE. PERFECT. Where do I donate? Thanks
A timer doesn't do much but why is AS Timer such a CPU hog? What exactly is it doing in the background? A web browser running youtube playing at full 1080 is around 40% CPU on my machine. After you read this AS Timer deleted from my machine
Does exactly what I wanted it to do. Its kind of crazy that the apple os doesnt already have something like this. This app is clean and easy to use, there is even a little lock button you can press which lets the app stay on top of other applications while you work, it becomes transparent but stays on top. Great idea and execution. 5/5
I used to use the "Alarm Clock" app until the Catalina OS, when it lost support. AS Timer has almost everything I loved about my old app, except: 1. I wish you could resize the window 2. I wish you could turn off the "time is up" message -- for me the sound is enough 3. I wish you could choose from all of the built in MacOS sounds for the alarm, or use your own custom sounds.
Great countdown timer featuring a unique alarm that stretches across the screen when your time is up!
I found this app, so I could use the new feature in Keynote to "play in window" feature. I have been running sessions where I would use my iPhone's time. It made it harder to navigate two devices plus all the feautres in Zoom. This app is great - clean UI, easy to set, and you can even set it to not play a sound when the timer is done. It allows me to run a fully interactive Zoom session with breakouts easily.
What is the point of a timer that doesn't make a sound when it reaches zero? I set this timer with the sound it was supposed to make, and then it didn't make any sound at all. Deleting this app promptly.
Just found where you can pause and unpause timers, so now I am happy. Thanks!
So after getting my new mac, I realized that there is not a built in timer function. So after searching I found this app. Its extemely lightweight and works perfectly.
They weren’t kidding when they said the best timer ever. This app lets you type in the time, what a concept and revolutionary. Full stop. The outstanding design of this app should win awards in my humble opinion. The AS TimerPRO has like actually really good alarm sounds! Let’s compare them to the Apple iPhone timer’s sounds, which are ok and kind of annoying. These timer sounds are honestly the best timer sounds of all timers I’ve tried. I could go on, idk who these people are but they are great designers. I looked at the other review and it seems that that bug was fixed at least when I was using it so that’s good. Oh, this app has a killer full screen mode and the extra settings are ama… you get the point. This is the only app that I would ever give it to but I’d give this app 6 stars.
Thank you very much for developing this. I really wanted one where I could started a timer of custome time. And the dock icon shows the timer in real time so one dosen't have to go back to check the time. Thanks!
One thing that bothers me after the latest upgrade - seconds that are being shown dock. Hours and minutes are made very small and seconds are made big in dock icon. It should be other way around. Nobody uses this applicatoin to count seconds.. Why to focus on it in Mac dock?
I gave this app a five star rating when it was working well, a one star rating after losing the seconds, and now a four star rating. I have no idea why the seconds disappeared, but I learned from reading another review that I could View Seconds from the File menu. That information should have been prminantly stated when I clicked on the ? on the clock face to being up teh directions/help screen! Other than that, I really love this app and use it for various things every day. I will add back the fifth star if the information screen gets fixed (and I happen to see that it has been fixed).
This timer is awesome! It's so simple and user friendly. Once the timer is finished, it takes over my whole computer screen to let me know time is up and I don't have to use any ringers. This has to be my favorite feature!! The only reason I gave it a 4 star review is due to after the update I have to force close the timer app each time to start a new one. This glitch should not shy one to try out this timer, as I'm hoping it will be fixed in the near future. This timer is also great for the pomodoro effect!
It's takes no special consideration or time to master the use of this app. It's pure functionality unhampered by the desire to be clever or novel. I need a Timer, not another empty entertainment. The Pro version isn't needed for the most basic functionality, but offers more for those who can profit from it.
Simple and intuitive. Exactly what I want and need.
TIPS FOR USE: 1. Some alarm sounds are PIERCING even at less than full system volume, and you can't control the volume within the app. Usually I keep my system volume on the low side, but one time I had my system volume turned up to about 80% with Dance 80s as the alarm and I almost fell out of my seat. So I highly recommend you test any alarm sound you think you want to use by putting your system volume all the way up, choosing that sound, and then clicking on the little sound icon under the name of the sound. (Warn anyone else in the room with you!) 2. You can toggle between showing the seconds or not showing the seconds in the File menu. 3. Yes, you CAN use the keyboard to type in the alarm, but ONLY if the app's your active window -- for the non-technically inclined, that means since you can float the window on top of anything by clicking on the lock symbol to "open," even if the window's visible, make sure Alinof Timer name and menu is on top bar, and if not, click on the timer window. Once you've done that, #4-7 will work for you. 4. If you have seconds showing (see #2 above), typing 5 will give you five seconds, 50 for 50 seconds, 500 for 5 minutes & 00 seconds, and 5000 for 50 minutes & 00 seconds....you get the idea. If you don't show the seconds, you'll be choosing minutes first, so typing 5 gives you five minutes, etc. 5. Hitting return starts or stops the alarm. 6. Hitting space bar pauses or unpauses the alarm. 7. Hitting esc key zeros out the alarm. By the way, the Pro version has volume control. It's $5.99 currently which seems quite fair if you need to have multiple timers, but I don't; would gladly pay a smaller amount for this as a single timer, though. Hope this is useful, & please vote it helpful if so, so others will see this.
Without volume control it is a very unpleasant experience, it’s VERY loud, which is disturbing when doing serious work.
If not, do you have a recommendation?
This tool is really nice when you need to timebox meetings. Project it to the screen and you will see everyone sticking to it, trying to avoid the huge alarm and message poping on the screen. I also use it to help me focus without interruptions for short timespans, like 30 or 45, where I commit myself to not even read emails. Really usefull. Although the free version was fine for my use case, I proudly paid for the pro version just because I wanted to support developers that create this nice App. It has been really helping me in meeting during the last few year. Congrats!
I just wanted a simple timer! Some of the others in the App Store are just ridiculously complicated. This is intuitive. Choose an alarm sound and then set it quickly using your mouse wheel. End of story. It’s a timer—I don’t need it to launch the space shuttle.
Edit: The “show seconds” menu item slipped right past me. It’s under the FILE menu. My bad. Five stars.
how hard would it have been to put a volume on this. It’s too loud. Other than damaging my hearing when my headphones are one, it’s pretty good. But seriously needs a volume control. Please update!!!
The app is basically unusable if you have a mouse. No way even to enter a time with the keyboard (who would think of that?). The alert came on and I had no idea how to turn it off and I had the volume on loud. Great UI interface though. It says “click to close” but you can’t just click anywhere. Has some potential. Also, the “PRO” version is like $8 and has all sorts of features nobody needs. I’d pay a dollar for the nice UI if it worked well. Check out “Red Hot Timer”. Its ugly, but lets you put in the time you want by typing.
SIMPLY AWESOME
excellet. thank you!
the timer functionality is pretty nice, but the alarm is extremely loud, no matter what volume I have output or alarm output set to in the system settings, and there doesn't seem to be any way to change the volume in the app.
Exactly what i need!
The app is easy to use, and just what I needed so that I could have a timer running while I write. But it consumes a lot of battery power.
Simple, useful little timer app. Works perfectly. THANK YOU to the developer.
Installed it, window comes up advertising pro version of program, no way to get to the timer itself, absolutely fails before first use. Has no button or menu item to start the timer. Seems faulty in a big way. I give this app 4-F, or THE WORST FAILURE
perfect….
The timer works fine, except that a) if the computer goes into sleep mode, the timer will not go off and b) even if the computer is at a low volume it will ring really loudly.
Exactly what I was looking for. Clean, Simple and always on top of my screen.
This was exactly waht i needed and it works fantastically! my mom makes videos and she needs to know when to wrap it up. this was perfect. I love how its not just a dinky little toolbar clock that sends you a notification. its a very easy to read clock. and when the timer goes off “Boom!” you know its time to stop. good job developer.
