AS Timer App Reviews

60 Customer Reviews:

I use this at work and dont want a blaring audible alarm, just the visual popup. I dont seem to notice timers with small times-up blinkers on the edge of the screen, so I do want a blaring visual. This delivers with a nice large band overlaying the full width of the sreen. I have two screens and this puts the band on the primary screen, even if the app is sitting on the secondary screen. Perfect! I doent see a way to save multiple types of timers (specific time and sound settings), but the time selector is quite functional and quick, so thats not a problem for my needs.

This App is exactly what I needed — a simple application of a timer. Great keyboard input options or mouse scrolling to select time. The only request I have is an option for entering seconds. Its also perfect because it is free. : )

This is an awesome test taking timer! Its especially useful if youre performing the timed task on the computer as the timer makes it the active window once time is up and shows a large banner in the middle of the screen. I cant imagine how this could have been made any better and simpler.

Great app, does exactly what it says and looks good while doing it. I wish you could change the size of the timer window because its a bit too big, but otherwise a great app. Particularly if youre an easily distracted student, like myself, and need something to focus/remind you of time limits.

I really like this app and though it can be jarring I dont mind the pop-up function. However, it is way too loud and there doesnt seem to be a way of reducing the volume. Add some volume control and maybe Ill use it again.

great personality, slow scrolling

I really like this app but it scrolls slowly and I cant just type in the time to set it.

All I wanted was a simple timer to say hey, in 20 minutes, RING! Just type in 20 and hit go - but this is not able to do that, you have to set it to a time, by this ridiculous scrolling feature, not even using your number pad. **SIGH** On to another app….

keep computer awake

If the computer falls asleep, this timer is useless. I does not wake up the computer and ring the alarm when the time is up.

Simple and Effective

Doesn’t take up a lot of screen real estate. It does what you need it to do to time yourself on certain tasks. Great!

Although the interface is very effective (yeah, copied iOS timer so), the operation is annoying. You have to scroll up and down minute by minute to set the timer. It’s only good if you want to set anything below ten minutes.

There is a bug while you lock it to the front of the desk. (you cannot re-get it after minimization, re-set it after once count down) Another issue is the short key cmd+M does not work

This timer does exactly what I want it to do… It counts down from a set time. It is perfect when I need to sit down with my computer but only hae 20 minutes.. Thanks!

TROJAN HORSE

my virus protector bing-ed when I tried to use this the first time, found a trojan horse in the system folder installed by this app. User beware!

I found out that quite often, this alarm app does not work or does not sound the alarm as it should. Not sure why (and my computer is not in mute!). Will have to find a more reliable alarm app.

The interface was a little wierd for me at first - BUT this app does exactly what I wanted. Only problem is that it also consumes 11% of my CPU. This is a showstopper for me since I routinely work unplugged. Ill continue looking for a simple timer app.

It does what it says it does. I just wish there was a way to change the volume. With noise cancelling headphones on on the lowest volume on my computer the alarm/ring is still REALLY loud. It would be nice if there was a way to change the volume of the alarm itself aside from increaseing/decreasing your computer volume.
